The aim of this paper is to ascertain whether Australia meets world's best practice for road recycling by in situ stabilisation. The paper suggests areas where we can measure comparisons. It discusses the different procedures adopted in each country and investigates the reasons for the various approaches. The paper goes on to determine the breadth and understanding that different countries have of design methods, plant and equipment development and construction techniques and environmental considerations. The requirements of different countries are compared and reasons for differences and areas where we can further develop our own knowledge discussed. In conclusion, the paper determines that Australia is a world leader in many fields of recycling by in situ stabilisation while identifying areas of possible development. (A)
