Following the introduction of Random Breath Testing (RBT) in 1982, New South Wales has experienced continuing benefits in terms of significantly reduced traffic deaths and injuries and a reduced proportion of fatally injured drivers with illegally high bac s. To assist the maintenance of this program, a survey was conducted which was designed to give a broad picture of community attitudes knowledge, beliefs and behaviour in relation to drink- driving to assist the planning of media campaigns and enforcement countermeasures.
