Samenvatting

The following points of interest emerge from the study: 1) Blood alcohol concentration of 200 mg/100 ml equates to a high alcohol consumption and therefore the average drunk driver probably can not be classed as a social drinker. in fact 18% of drunk drivers in 1980 were above 250 mg/ 100 ml further emphasising the heavy alcohol consumption involved in many drunk driving cases; 2)Drunk driving defendents often claim exaggerated consumption figures.
