In North Carolina, a Governor's Task Force on Drunken Drivers was appointed to hold public hearings on the Governor's Crime Commission proposals and to draft a legislative package. The Task Force proposals are discussed. The history of the drinking driving problem is elaborated and possible reforms are suggested. The Action Subcommittee of the Committee on Alcohol and other Drugs made five recommendations.
