This report provides information on the overall strategic impact of the DRIVE programmes, the results of the DRIVE I programme, the scope of all the DRIVE II projects, and the potential output of the programme in standardisation and implementation. Chapter 2 covers the overall objectives of DRIVE and chapter 3 deals with the strategic level of the programme. Chapter 4 covers the DRIVE I programme, chapters 5-7 deal with DRIVE II - the programme workplan, the organisation and management of the programme and the projects themselves with details of their integration. Chapter 8 describes the progress made through DRIVE in the areas of standards and common functional specifications. Annex 1 contains a list of the DRIVE II projects; Annex 2 gives the personal contact for each project; Annex 3 lists DRIVE II projects by their areas of major operational interest; Annex 4 provides a list of all the organisations participating as partners and associated partners in DRIVE II projects; Annex 5 presents a list of each DRIVE I project main deliverables and expected impact, and Annex 6 contains factsheets giving a concise description of each DRIVE II project.
