This paper describes the concept of individual adaptive driver assistancesystem, which provides more precise assistance manoeuvres adapted for each individual driver, the places and the driving situations. The system includes the design methodology of the driver behaviour recognition system concerning longitudinal dynamics of vehicle, and how to utilize the driver behaviour to the advanced driver assistance systems such as braking assistance and lane keeping. The probe car was used to collect a database of driving in real-world traffic situation such as acceleration throttle, brake pedal, vehicle distance, vehicle speed, vehicle acceleration, steering wheel angle, yaw rate, and vehicle position. Some of driving situation analysis from driving data in urban area is shown in the paper. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
