Samenvatting

The main objectives of this study are subdivided in two phases: Phase I creates a reproducible monotonous test design to generate driver sleepinessand Phase II assesses driver sleepiness by the characteristic changes in subject’s behavior. This paper describes methods and results of test drives with 46 subjects. The drivers rated themselves using the Karolinska Sleepiness Scale (KSS). Questionnaires, videos and vehicle data were collected. Selected results such as the mean values of the Steering Wheel Reversal Rate and a newly developed Envelope Criterion as a function of the KSS self-rating are presented in the results chapter of this paper.
