Samenvatting

In order to study the consistency of driver gap-acceptance behaviour, it is necessary to obtain repeated measurements on individual drivers. This was accomplished in two ways described here: one study used a simulated experiment, whilst the other obtained repeated measurements by identifying a group of drivers which used a priority intersection on successive evenings. Time-lapse photography was used in both experiments. Results are analyzed as regards age and variability and age and gap-acceptance behaviour.
