AT PRESENT, SCIENTIFIC DISCUSSION CENTERS TOO MUCH ON METHODS OF EVALUATION RATHER THAN PURPOSES OF EVALUATION. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PAPER IS TO INITIATE A DISCUSSION ABOUT THE MAIN AIM OF DRIVER IMPROVEMENT COURSES AS A NECESSARY STARTING POINT FOR COURSE CONSTRUCTION AND EVALUATION. AN EVALUATION IS NOT POSSIBLE WITH OUT A CLEAR DEFINITION OF THE AIM OF THE COURSES AND A CONSISTENT PROGRAM FOR THE COURSES.
