This issue of Current Topics includes over 70 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on systems for information on route and parking guidance, traffic conditions, weather warnings etc which can now be made available to drivers either from the roadside or from within the car. Tests and trials, field studies, simulations and case studies covering the application of such systems in the UK, Europe, USA, Japan and other countries are included. These items have been selected from the material added to the TRL Library Database between 1999 and 2001. Much of the relevant English language published literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
