Samenvatting
Part I of the paper discusses the impracticality of using correction factors for estimating driver reaction times in actual traffic. Furthermore arguments are presented which suggest that driver reaction time to signals on a car ahead might be different from reaction time to other traffic situations, such as the presence of an obstacle. Part II discusses briefly recent studies that have been used a methodology in investigating the reaction time benefits of high- mounter brake lights.
