Samenvatting
There has been a significant reduction in fatalities and injuries as a results of seat belt legislation. in 1981, Yugoslavia introduced this legislation, and on January 1985 legislation was passed making the use of the front seat belts compulsory, with penalties for non- usage. The main purpose of the present study was to investigate the impact of compulsory seat belt legislation upon the reported seat belt usage among the population of Serbia (Yugoslavia).
