Samenvatting

The drivers' preferences regarding the implementation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) currently coming to market in Europe were studied in this part study of the European Commission funded ADVISORS project. The systems involve distance keeping (Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)), speed adaptation (Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA)) and navigation support. 911 drivers of cars and trucks throughout Europe have been questioned about their expectations and preferences regarding these ADA-systems and their combinations. Insight of the willingness of users to adopt these systems is given by exploring the preferences of these user groups regarding system characteristics, different levels of intervention and different levels of system price. The data was analysed by help of conjoint analysis, which is proven to be well performing in terms of predicting preference and choice behaviour in marketing and service industries.
