This conference covers human factors as shown in driver training and accident causes. Subjects included are: mental workload; driver information systems; driver impairment due to distraction, age or injury, or the influence of alcohol or drugs; driver assessment, both in training and at the point of licence renewal; the role of driver experience in safety; the use of simulator technology in training and rehabilitation; driver fatigue and its monitoring; driver behaviour and its implications; variable message signs and vehicle-highway information systems; visual attention and field of view assessment; highway design for safety; accident analysis; and commercial vehicle safety.
