Samenvatting

The main research questions of this thesis are: 1. What are the effects of driver support systems on driving behaviour ?; 2. To what extent will driver support systems be accepted by individual drivers ?; and 3. To what extent will driving behaviour and acceptance be determined by individual differences ? In order to answer these questions two types of research were carried out: a large questionnaire study and two experimental studies in a driving simulator. (A)
