Samenvatting

The results of a DETR study are considered which examined the functions that affect car use whether for work or private/leisure/social journeys, and the frequency of car journeys made for work purposes with accident risk implications. A model is described which attempts to summarise factors which influence risk involvement such as driving as part of work with the added stress of the workload. This also includes driving demands resulting in added accident risk vulnerability.
