Samenvatting
The purpose of this article is to examine the problem presented by drugs other than alcohol. First the difference between alcohol effects and drug effects are discussed. Surveys are then discussed which have been carried out to determine the extent to which drugs are taken by drivers, as well as laboratory studies on their effects on driving skills and various accident surveys. Drugs are then divided into various categories. Finally the international efforts, action in the U.K. and criminal sanction are discussed.
