Samenvatting

The central problem in designing transportation systems and networks is determining the optimal control techniques for given transportation facilities. Computer graphics are used mainly as an interface between the man and the machine. Problems which inherently require display of output or have graphically oriented input are the clearest beneficiaries of computer graphics. Graphical output gives the ability to display arbitrary shapes quickly and therefore the application of computer graphics techniques to the solution of transportation problems is most fruitful.
