Samenvatting

As part of the national STORM project which was started more than two years ago by partners from industry and authorities in the Stuttgart area within the DRIVE 2 project QUARTET, a dynamic route guidance system was developed and is currently being field tested. This system consists of a combination of an infrastructure-based mode with centrally calculated route recommendations and an autonomous mode supported by RDS/TMC traffic messages with route calculation on-board. This paper presents both the systems design, and the infrastructure of the system. Brief details of the field trial and the methods used in it are also presented. This involves nearly 100 test drivers. The trial is due to start at the end of 1994, and will continue until the end of 1995. (A)
