Samenvatting

Traffic accidents cause substantial costs to society and there is a widely accepted belief that these costs are excessive and should be reduced. Nevertheless, the means available to reduce the accident costs are limited and so are the available resources. The project aims to contribute to the solution of this choice problem by a theoretical and empirical analysis of various traffic safety measures. For this it uses an interdisciplinary approach, with contributions from both law and economics. (Author/publisher)
