Samenvatting
In this study an attempt is made to what degree the dominating school in economic theory of this moment, neo-classical economics, might be expected to contribute to public decision-making on issues involving environ- mental effects. Emphasis is being put on the applicability of neo-classical welfare theory and its practical instrument, i.e. cost benefit analysis. The study is aiming mainly at a critical evaluation of the methods.
