Samenvatting
The paper focuses on the collaboration between retailers and manufacturers, resulting in a substantial reduction in transportation costs. The design and implementation of a hub network, using inland shipping is described. The key issues were: (1) to determine the possibilities of inland shipping in a high value segment, (2) the design of an actual hub network and (3) outlining development path of the concept.
