Samenvatting
ECOPAVE is a multi-purpose paving system utilising a high strength cement based material, laid with an asphalt paver and mechanically treated to create a novel crack relief system. The development of ECOPAVE by an Anglo-Danish consortium is described together with details of the in-service performance assessment in the UK and Denmark and accelerated testing. The work was undertaken as part of the Commission of European Communities research programme. The cost of ECOPAVE as assessed by a computer-based model and the economic and environmental benefits are discussed.
