Samenvatting
Transport operators combine various pieces of information from different parties for their own purposes. Electronic Data Interchange EDI has proven to be an efficient and effective way of linking these pieces together, provided that certain pre-conditions are met. Availability of a uniform standard is one of them; EDIFACT is gaining acceptance as such. This article reviews background and use of the EDIFACT transport messages. They provide the means to integrate transport information.
