Samenvatting
As far as possible, the strategies adopted to make bicycle riding safer should be based on evidence, of two types: (1) evidence of the sorts of accidents and injuries people have when riding bikes, and (2) evidence of the effectiveness of proposed or actual countermeasures. It is not known for sure whether education programs are effective in reducing the incidence of bicycling accidents. Further studies are needed.
