Samenvatting
A method is presented for determining current travel times on motorways using real time traffic data (1 or ½ minute intensities). The method is based on the comparison of absolute vehicle counts in successive measuring sites along the motorway. To compensate for detection- errors corrections are made based on the correlation of intensity- fluctuations in the successive measuring sites. This method is implemented on a computer and tested with real traffic data.
