Samenvatting
Inaugural lecture on the methodology of research in general proposes increased application of the rules of the social function of panel discussions, that may give a normative minimum methodology for the empirical sciences. Panel discussions for problem solving and problem analysis are becoming more important and require more time as compared with the pure research function of the sciences. Their functioning is analyzed.
