An iteration method for future traffic estimates. In this article a comparison is made between the engineers's approach and the economist's approach to analyzing traffic flows between centres. It is argued that the engineer is inclined to use analogies from fysics and to pay very much attention to the applicability of his methods. The economist, on the contrary, concentrates on the theoretical backgrounds of his approach but is considerably less interested in the practical results that might be attained. It is argued that an interdisciplinary approach of the problem might be extremely fruitful.
