Samenvatting
This paper makes a plea for the use of a traffic information system. This means that the relation between traffic data and the network of roads is maintained from the gathering till the presenting of data. With the coming of the PC and the development of databases, by means of that network, the step can be taken towards the transposition of data to traffic information for the benefit of research, analysis and policy.
