Samenvatting

The more important findings of this study were that, on the average, quartzite and blast-furnace slag give a resistance to skidding equivalent to that given by other road-stones that are three units higher in polished-stone value. There is some indication that use of more nearly single-sized chippings in surface dressings gives a better surface texture. Inadequate durability in an aggregate can affect the resistance to skidding of a road made with it.
