Samenvatting
A two-dimensional discrete-parameter "Whiplash" model of the head, neck and torso, has been used to evaluate the effect of collision severity on the kinematic and kinetic behaviour of the cervical spine. The model yields acceptable results low impact severities but the results at low impact severities but the results at higher severities indicate the need for some revision of the neck stiffness and damping characteristics.
