Samenvatting

In the early 1970's many states in the USA lowered their legal minimum drinking ages, resulting in increased fatal crash involvement among young drivers. Beginning in 1976 and continuing into the 1980's some of these states raised their drinking ages. The present study, conducted in nine states where the drinking ages were raised, found that this resulted in reductions in fatal crash involvement.
