Restraining belt conf igurations are studied to determinetheir effectiveness in restricting occupant motion and im-pact With the steering column. The study was conducted us-ing the UCIN-crash computer simulation model. The resultsdemonstrate the effectiveness of the shoulder/lop beltcombination as opposed to lop belts clone in preventingoccupant impact With the steering system.
