Samenvatting

Earlier research into assessment of curvature demonstrated that varying both curve radius and curve angel influenced the accuracy of judgements. In an attempt to measure the generality of this finding to the road, two experiments were performed where subjects matched the curvature of a series of road. In the first experiment, the response set consisted of 11 scenes of a constant 65 degree curve angle but of varying radii. In the second experiment, the response set was expanded to 17 scenes. Curve radius effects predominated in the subjects'responses although floor and ceiling limitations may have accentuated these findings.
