Samenvatting

The paper presents experimental results of on-road measurements of vehicle fuel consumption and exhaust emissions for various road gradients. Gasoline-powered passenger cars of different technologies were tested at various speeds relevant for urban driving. The response of vehicle emissions to road slope was evaluated for roads with gradients of up to plus or minus 10%. Concentrations of CO, HC and NOx in the exhaust gases were measured, and their mass emissions were calculated. Correction functions for emission factors of gasoline passenger cars have been developed. (A)
