Samenvatting
Effects of an accelerated road improvement programme over the 10 years 1956 to 1966 are reviewed. Agricultural development in terms of increases in occupied acreage, areas top dressed, and stock population compared with New Zealand figures are used to illustrate the high development rate. The contribution of roading and bridging to this development is demonstrated.
