The personnel of the Dutch Railway (NS) had a strike on April 6 and 7, 1992. A study is made into the mobility behaviour of the Dutch population during these two days and in particular into the traffic flow on the road network. Circa 25% of the people who used to go by train to their work stayed at home. There were no extra congestion on the main road network, except in the Randstad corridor. The lack of train capacity was perceptible.
