Samenvatting

Studies of safety belt effectiveness were carried out under various conditions of crashes after which it was concluded that three-point belts were effective in frontal impact from 0-30 degrees, but that their effectiveness diminished after 45 degrees. Three-point belts did not provide protection for the knees, and the study also showed that the anchorage system of the belt is an important factor in its effectiveness.
