Samenvatting
This paper compares the effectiveness in winter of snow tires with studs, without studs, and with controlled protrusion studs; elastomeric tire attachments and reinforced steel tire chains; and standard bias-belted highway tires. Correlations between each wheel combination and temperature variation were obtained for each set of tests which are carried out under various weather and environmental conditions.
