Eight young male volunteers received cross-over and double-blind placebo and atropine (0.85 mg and 1.7 mg) by mouth. Dose-related impairment was seen in most tests, with atropine flicker fusion test, short term memory test, co-ordination test and standing steadiness being the most sensitive to atropine. The atropine-induced impairment was maximal at 1-2 h after the ingestion of the drug. For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 259956.
