Samenvatting

This report describes the results of research intended to determine the correlation between vehicular design and speed driven without the aid of the speedometer. The results from experiments with 21 male subjects indicate a significant difference in the comfortable speeds of 3 test vehicles. The results show that the comfortable speed for drivers is well above the present speed limit of 55 mph. Implied by these results is the need for further research in vehicle design characteristics to coincide the comfortable speed with the speed limits.
