The effects of pavements roughness on vehicle speeds. Paper prepared for the 55th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board TRB, Washington, D.C., January 1976.

This report describes a study conducted in the summer of 1974 to develop relationships between average vehicle speed and pavements condition for two-lane highways. The condition factor chosen was roughness and 72 sites, covering a wide change of roughness, were selected. Measurements included speed, roughness, geometric characteristics, and traffic counts.
