Samenvatting

An analytical numerical study was made of the effects of assuming a constant rolling resistance when inferring aerodynamic resistance from coast-down tests of road vehicles when, in fact, the actual rolling resistance varies with velocity. The error in the inferred aerodynamic resistance can be quite high for conventional bias tyres, up to about 35%, and as high as 15% even for radial tyres.
