A previous Technical Note has reported a study of the consistency of the on-off thresholds of self-activated internally-illuminated pavement markers in response to fading light, fog, and low temperatures. This Note concerns an assessment of the effects of self-activated pavement markers on driver behaviour by means of a 'before and after' observational study. (a).
