Samenvatting

Data on rural Utah automobile crashes were examined, including both injury crashes and non-injury crashes. Among the occupants of these cars, 16.5 per cent were wearing a lap belt at the time of the crash. In similar crashes, the unbelted occupants were injured substantially more frequently and more severely than the belted ones.
