Samenvatting
It is shown that the supplementary illumination at crosswalks had a positive influence on the number of accidents. Whereas the total number of accidents in Hannover as well as the number of accidents occurring at crosswalks during daytime increased steadily, the number of accidents during nighttime decreased considerably.
