Samenvatting

This report shows that ejection of the occupants from motor cars is affected by many factors. These include the type of road (urban or rural), the seated position of the occupant, the type of accident (collision or roll over), the directions of impact (frontal, side or rear) the size and type of car and wether or not the occupants were wearing safety belts. The results show how serious are the consequences of ejection and how important it is to prevent it, the report emphasises the potential value of safety belts and other restraining or retention devices.
