Electronic aids on California freeways.

First, a suggested structure and classification of freeway electronic aid systems is presented. The next parts deal with the development and current status of specific freeway electronic aid systems in the three largest California Metropolitan areas: Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco. Future research needs and anticipated future directions of freeway electronic aid systems are identified.
