This paper presents some of the results of a comparative international small-scale but in-depth study of the travel patterns of a variety of households. The paper focuses on the activity patterns of the increasing number of households with working women in the united states, france and the netherlands. The paper specifically examines how members of a household organise their travel activities, and particularly their work-related travel, to respond to their family and household responsibilities.(a) for the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 290118.
