The nature of radiation is discussed and the possibilities to calculate the radiation energy as well as the exchange of radiation between air and road surface. The basis and the possibilities for calculating the heat exchange through convection and conduction, precipitation, vaporization and condensation, and freezing and thawing are then treated in the same way.
